Writing Centre instructors are occasionally asked to proofread assignments, but like all other university and college Writing Centres, we don't correct an assignment that students will then submit for grading. Instead, we offer active, instructional editing. This method involves helping students understand and correct errors in a paragraph or two. Faculty will guide students through this process, helping them with the corrections. Our goal in the Writing Centre is to empower students to proofread and edit their own work.
