Disney International Program

Ever thought about working and studying at The Happiest Place on Earth?

The University of California, Riverside, in partnership with Capilano University, offers academic coursework as well as supervised paid training at the Walt Disney World Resort near Orlando, Florida.

Designed for Capilano University students who are studying in the Bachelor of Tourism Management, Tourism Management Coop Diploma, and Bachelor of Business Administration, the program includes 4 required components:

  1. An intensive 2-week course delivered at the University of California, Riverside
  2. A course delivered through the Walt Disney World Resort which students select from a range of 8 options
  3. A course delivered on-line by the University of California, Riverside, during the training at the Walt Disney World Resort.
  4. Credit transfers toward your Capilano University diploma or degree in Tourism Management.

Students should have completed 24 credits before they begin their placement.

Step 1: Capilano University Application for Exchange

Complete the Capilano University Exchange Application (pdf) and submit to the Centre for International Experience by December 12, 2018.

Step 2: Cap U Interview and Selection

All applicants will be interviewed by a Capilano University selection committee. Successful candidates will be notified by email of their acceptance. In order to accept this offer, you will submit:

  1. Signed Letter of Offer
  2. Study Abroad Fee (approximately $375)
  3. Disney Application Package. This package will be given to you at your interview.

Step 3: Disney Interview

Interviews will be scheduled in early February 2019. Interviews are conducted by Disney and a UCR representative and are approximately 20-minutes in length. Questions you have about the program can be asked during your interview.

Prior to the Disney interview, you will have to prepare:

  1. The Disney Online Application. You will be invited to complete the application so please navigate the pages appropriately. The link will be emailed to you.
  2. The Role Checklist.
  3. A high quality copy of the ID page in your passport. Please bring this to your interview.

Step 4: Disney Acceptance

All successful candidates will be notified via email. Please note that acceptance by Capilano U to the exchange program does not guarantee your acceptance by UCR to the Disney International Program.

Summer Programs

Our short term programs are 10 days to 5 weeks long. These programs are great for those who cannot take a whole semester off but would still like to gain firsthand experience and understanding of the unique culture and context of another country.
